We have welcomed the children back to preschool this week and enjoyed hearing tales of some fun Easter holidays.
To start the term we have been talking about lifecycles and using the story of the ‘Hungry Caterpillar’ to help with our learning as we sequenced the stages, became cocooned ourselves (you can see the video in your tapestry account) and learnt a new song.
On Tuesday morning we went on a mini beast hunt around preschool and were excited to find lots of the insects on our tick sheets, including; ladybird, butterfly, bees and worms. As we lifted the logs in our playground we used magnifying glasses and found lots of centipede, millipede, ants, slugs and spiders!
We have also been looking at the changes in our frogspawn, as they are now tadpoles. We are eagerly awaiting some legs next! As we looked at the changes we have been creating our own picture booklet to bring home and share with our families.
In our afternoon sessions we have also been listening to the story of the ‘Hungry Caterpillar’ and talking about insects.
Next week: letter sounds, writing our name and following instructions. In our afternoon sessions we will look at nursery rhymes (Humpty Dumpty).
