We have ended this term with another week of planting and growing. The children have enjoyed this subject and were keen to carry on – especially with the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ to help our learning.

In our morning sessions the children have all made a booklet showing them learning about plants, what they need to grow and practised writing words linked to this theme. They also listened to the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, joined in with the repeated parts, sequenced the events and measured themselves to see how tall they were. They used giant sized coins and golden eggs to count and match quantity, as well as making things for our beanstalk wall display. Some children even used building blocks to measure giant sized footprints that they had found around preschool.

In our afternoon sessions we also listened to the story about Jack, then planted beans and sunflower seeds to take home and grow.

Next week: HALF TERM and preschool is closed. We will open again from Monday 4th June and start the term with a magical theme, a giant egg and an iguana!

Monday 10th June is a special ‘Buggly Beeps’ session for our afternoon children.

Wednesday 12th June – preschool leaver’s photos for AM Children only.
